¿La peor película de la década para los críticos? Avengers: Endgame

What is the worst movie of the decade? Each will have its answer, but there is unanimity in the film critics: the worst of all is, neither more nor less than Avengers: Endgame. The decision could not be more controversial, because the Disney and Marvel movie is the highest grossing in history. In other words, millions of people who have seen it over and over have swallowed a mess (at least, from the perspective of critics).

Undoubtedly, this boutade says more about critics than Avengers: Endgame. For the past decade, the cinematic universe of Marvel and Disney has reigned at the box office, and not just that. According to directors Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola, the essence of cinema has also changed. Is the cinema 'The Avengers'? Shakespeare's classic tales of power, family, and corruption were formed in Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, and Thor, but are they movies?

Truthfully, it doesn't matter. MCU movies (as the Marvel universe is known) are a collection of 23 pieces of cinematic tales and at the same time a kind of decade of theme park rides. Few come close to the cultural impact the MCU has left. With 23 billion in global box office sales, dozens of products, attractions and a universal phrase understood worldwide: "I love you, 3000", the MCU is practically a religion. While it technically started in 2008, the actual moment the MCU came in shot in 2012 with 'Avengers,' directed by Joss Whedon.

The MCU began in 2008 with Robert Downey Jr.'s 'Iron Man', which competed with brave, adult-oriented superhero movies like 'The Spirit' or 'The Dark Knight' by Christopher Nolan. Thanks to the charisma of Downey Jr., the film worked, with a box office of 600 million dollars, a spectacular figure for a character who was not as well known as others in the universe of comics.

Under Kevin Feige, who became the head of production at Marvel Studios in 2007, Iron Man created more than just an ordinary sequel: Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury in a post-credit sequence, talking about something called "the Avengers Initiative " The initiative reappeared in 'The Incredible Hulk', released just a few months after Iron Man, in which Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark could be seen meeting with General Ross, Bruce Banner's greatest enemy, to talk about the program.

The deleted scene from "Avengers: Infinity War" showing the origin of Professor Hulk

"Avengers: Infinity War" is considered, by many, the best movie that Marvel Studios has created, not only because it managed to bring together all the superheroes that had emerged in the more than twenty films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also because of how it was approached Thanos' goal, being this the protagonist of the film even achieving victory.

However, one of the few negative points that fans and critics addressed was the low participation of the Hulk, who only had a fight against Thanos at the beginning of the film and who after losing to the crazy titan, refused to aiding his alter ego, Bruce Banner, with the intention of stopping the annihilation of half the universe.

For many, the Hulk must have appeared at some other point in the film, as the trailers indicated, however this never happened and even in "Avengers: Endgame" there was the long-awaited rematch between Hulk and Thanos.

However, in principle, if there was to be a scene where the Hulk joined the battle in Wakanda, coming out of the 'Hulkbuster' Banner fought with before the sons of Thanos. There are even concept arts where the Hulk is seen destroying the armor built by Tony Stark to confront one of the Titan's firstborn. The concept art was revealed by Ryan Meinerding, creative director of visual development for Marvel Studios, who posted the image on his Instagram account.

Now, a scene removed from the final footage of "Avengers: Infinity War" shows us that the Hulk, at the height of the battle against Thanos, achieved a perfect combination between the strength of the green monster and the intelligence of his other self, Bruce Banner ( something that was quickly seen and explained in "Avengers :, Endgame") showing even a reaction from Black Widow and Falcon upon seeing this new version of the Hulk.

The strategy seems to marvel be similar to the one they executed with Captain America: Civil War, which brought to the table a series of events that would have direct effects on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. In addition to being the first appearance of Spider-Man and Black Panther.

The problem? It is unclear when it will happen due to the effects of the pandemic and quarantine measures on movie productions and releases worldwide.

Avengers 5: Thor would be the only original member in the next MCU movie

Soon will start a new phase of movies and series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will have well-known characters but will also present new ones. It is believed that in the future there could be a fifth Avengers movie, and a new theory suggests that Thor may be the only original member of the team (via ScreenRant).

The MCU as we know it started in 2008 with Iron Man introducing Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and laying the groundwork Avengers: Endgame for the arrival of the Avengers, and since then multiple movies have come to form the Infinity Saga that closed with Avengers: Endgame. And while that movie was the final arc for several of the original Avengers, Thor will still be active and will in fact be the first hero to get four solo movies with Thor: Love and Thunder. In this new Thor film we will see the return of Jane Foster, Valkyrie and Korg, in addition to receiving the Guardians of the Galaxy, but the future of the god of thunder goes further, and it is hoped that if there is a new film of the Avengers he is present as the only original member of the team that is still active.

In Avengers: Endgame we saw the deaths of Black Widow and Iron Man, Steve Rogers passed the mantle of Captain America to Sam Wilson, wikipedia Hawkeye will have his own series with Kate Bishop who could take his place, and it is unknown what could happen with the rights. Hulk. For his part, Thor proved to be ready to go on new adventures and his bow seems to have no set end after being revitalized with Thor: Ragnarok by Taika Waititi.

In this way it is believed that Thor could go much further than Thor: Love and Thunder taking advantage of the Yahoo Entertainment fact that since he is not human he can live longer than other characters, and a possible team of heroes in Avengers 5 could be made up of Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and some of the new ones to come forward, all under the tutelage of Thor that would give the audience a sense of familiarity and nostalgia. We will see if the story presented in Love and Thunder lends itself to that future of Thor in the MCU, but for now it is something that looks possible.
